LinkedIn Text
Formatter.

LinkedIn has no bold button - so people fake it with Unicode. Type your line, pick a style, copy. Works in posts, headlines, comments, and your About. Use it for one hook, not the whole post.

Your text

type once · styles update live
65 characters. Everything runs in your browser - nothing is sent anywhere.
Use it sparingly. These are Unicode look-alikes, not real formatting. Screen readers often read them letter by letter or skip them, and LinkedIn search cannot match them. Great for one bold hook - bad for a whole post.

How to use it well

  • Bold one line - your hook, or a single number. Not five sentences.
  • Paste it straight into a post, comment, headline, or About section.
  • Bullets make a list scannable. Keep each line short.
  • Preview on mobile before you commit - styled glyphs can look heavier on a phone.
  • If in doubt, use less. Over-formatted posts read as try-hard.

The honest catch

  • These are Unicode look-alikes, not real formatting.
  • Screen readers may read them letter by letter - an accessibility cost.
  • LinkedIn search will not match styled words, so never style a keyword.
  • A few phones and browsers render some glyphs as boxes.
  • Substance beats styling. This is polish, not a strategy.
faq

Quick questions.

How does bold text work if LinkedIn has no bold button?
It swaps your letters for Unicode Mathematical Alphanumeric characters that happen to look bold or italic. LinkedIn treats them as ordinary text, so they survive copy-paste into posts, comments, headlines, and your About.
Is it safe and accessibility-friendly?
It is safe to use, but it has a real accessibility cost: screen readers often read styled glyphs one letter at a time or skip them. Use it for the occasional hook, never for whole paragraphs.
Will it hurt my search visibility?
Only if you style keywords. LinkedIn search matches normal characters, so a styled word will not be found. Keep the words you want to rank for in plain text.
Does anything get uploaded?
No. The formatting happens entirely in your browser. There is no account and no server call.
Why are some styles missing (script, double-struck)?
Those Unicode blocks have gaps that render as missing-glyph boxes for some letters. We only ship styles that convert cleanly, so what you copy always renders.

Formatting is polish.
